Customer request: Rugged computer with special GPS

A customer in the ports industry needed a rugged computer to operate their Terminal Operating System (TOS) with a specialized GPS solution. The device also required a pre-configured BIOS and image, complete with a branded startup logo.

Redesign of JLT’s existing JLT1014P rugged computer

We provided a tailored solution by customizing our compact 10-inch rugged vehicle-mount computer, the JLT1014P, to meet the customer’s unique specifications.

Development of a custom GPS board

Our electronic design team developed a small M.2 board incorporating a GPS chipset from NEO. This board replaced the internal Wi-Fi card, which the customer no longer needed. Additionally, JLT integrated custom antenna connectors compatible with the customer’s existing antenna setup, designed a custom BIOS, and prepared a tailored image to optimize the device for the required software.

Thanks to our custom development, the customer received a turnkey solution fully optimized for their software. The device offered hassle-free installation and smooth application integration, backed by the proven performance of JLT’s most compact rugged computer, the JLT1014P.
