Customer wanting a rugged computer with special GPS

A customer in the ports industry wanted a rugged computer to run their Terminal Operating System (TOS) on with a special GPS and prepared for their software with pre-configured bios and image. Branded bios with logotype at startup.

Redesign of JLT’s existing JLT1014P rugged computer

The solution was a customized version of JLT’s small and compact 10-inch rugged vehicle mount JLT1014P, with all the customer requested adaptations.

JLT developed a special GPS board

JLT’s electronic designers developed a small M.2 board with a GPS chipset from NEO. The new board replaced the internal Wi-Fi card, which the customer didn’t need. JLT also integrated custom antenna connectors that fit the customers’ existing antenna solution, created a custom bios, and created a custom image to prepare the device for the software.

Hassle-free installation and smooth application integration

Thanks to JLT’s custom development the customer got a turn-key solution for their special software where they didn’t need to change anything in installation or the application, supported by the proven technology from our most compact rugged platform, the JLT1014P.
